Card Quest

Card Quest is a rogue-like strategy card game. You can choose one of three classes and follow a storyline in 3 locations fighting enemies.

Gameplay - You start off with a selection of 3 areas, City, Mountain, and Forest, and a choice between 3 classes with items and class types, Rogue, Wizard, and Warrior. You use strategic thinking and your deck of cards to fight off enemies and bosses, as well as progressing through an interesting questline along the way. You can equip your character with different, weapons, armor, and items to give yourself a boost and modify your class to your liking. Fight your enemies by playing your cards strategically and dealing damage while defending yourself and keeping up your health and energy so you can keep playing cards. I enjoyed playing this game. The gameplay kept me connected and thinking about what my next play should be. The bosses are properly balanced and difficult like a boss enemy should be, and the enemies are too easy, but can provide a challenge when approaching you in numbers. I will probably continue to play, as it is a quite enjoyable and non-hardware intensive game to play in your spare time.

Graphics - The graphics in Card Quest are very nice to look at. The UI may seem a bit blurred but I really enjoyed looking at all the designs that the different cards had. The piskel design was wonderfully done and I really liked it. The enemies had great designs too. Each boss was different and unique in accordance to their enemy type. The UI and menu quality could be improved but overall, it is a nice game to look at.

The music in Card Quest is fun to listen to. It really immerses you into the experience, even it is simply just a card game. The epic symphony playing in the background while you plan your attack is very satisfying and makes you feel very powerful. The main menu does not have any music, which I would have liked to have seen, but overall the music is enjoyable.

Conclusion -

Card Quest is a great card game if you have some time to spare. The gameplay and music are very enjoyable and can keep you entertained for quite a while. I didn’t experience much of the story, but I did enjoy the narrative that I did see, as well as the choices of directions you are able to choose after each level. I recommend this game if you enjoy the genre, and want to have a fun and enjoyable strategy-RPG card game to experience.
